Former Crawley Town defender Glenn Wilson has signed for newly promoted Conference South club Margate.

Signed by Steve Evans he played at right back and central defence for Crawley for five years from 2007-12, making more than 150 league and cup appearances,

The former Crystal Palace trainee and Rushden & Diamonds player was part of Evans’ squad which gained promotion to the Football League.

However he did not play regularly in his final year at Reds, making just four appearances before being sent out on loan to Fleetwood.

Since then he has played for Gateshead and Salisbury before joing Conference Premier club Aldershot one year ago.

Last season Wilson, 29, made 45 league and cup appearances for the Shots before being released.
