Dermot Drummy to impose more organisation for Brighton game
Crawley Town head coach Dermot Drummy was pleased with the workout his side had in beating local Ryman League club Three Bridges 6-0 on Tuesday night.
He reckoned they showed good levels of fitness and energy as they begin to step up minutes on pitch ready for the next match, against Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion at the Checkatrade Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
“I was happy on the ball in the first half, with the goals, quite exciting for the fans, I thought we could have done better off the ball, but the fact we are new, I’ll give the players a bit (of leeway).
“We haven’t really worked tactically, we have worked physically and technically, which is what we do.”
Drummy promised after initially working on ball skills, they will now concentrate on tactics.
He said: “We’ll do a bit more organisation for the Brighton game. I am pleased with the physical levels and the mentality.
“The enthusiasm’s great from all the boys, they are really applying themselves.
“It was nice to come to Three Bridges, Paul (Faili) gives us a nice welcome here. It was great turnout from our fans again and made it a nice evening.
“Jordan Roberts is showing he’s got some special talent. The (first) goal from James (Collins) on the rebound was predatory.
“Lanre’s hit a great ball in his last game for us. It’s been two nights, no injuries, so we’re happy.”
