East Preston take on Peacehaven & Telscombe in Sussex Community Shield

The Sussex Community Shield sponsored by Premier Sports and Leisure will be played on Tuesday 5th August 2014 at the Sussex County FA Headquarters in Lancing - 7.45pm kick off.

The match sees the Sussex County Football League champions, East Preston, face the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup winners, Peacehaven & Telscombe, to claim the 2014/15 season’s first piece of silverware.

Formerly named the Roy Hayden Memorial Trophy, the competition has undergone a dramatic re-branding exercise to become the Sussex Community Shield.

Ken Benham, Chief Executive of the Sussex County FA said: “The Sussex Community Shield aims to kick-off the Sussex football season in style. As the curtain raiser, the fixture needs to be a high-profile event, and it is hoped with the re-branding and the fantastic new piece of silverware that is up for grabs, people will come along and see two of Sussex’s finest sides battle it out.

“Our thanks go to Premier Sports and Leisure for their assistant with the production of the Community Shield itself, and their support as sponsors of the competition in its debut season.”
