@Goal tweeted: "Yes, the Champions League is on... But have you seen Nathan Ferguson’s goal for Southend United tonight?"

There was confusion on BBC breakfast this morning. When showing the goal, the said he was a 20-year-old defender from Crystal Palace. There is a Nathan Ferguson who plays for Crystal Palace, but it's not the same one who scoored this goal.

@Tiickers23 tweeted: "Am I going mad, the Nathan Ferguson just mentioned on BBC Breakfast Sport scoring for Southend isn’t the same Nathan Ferguson at Palace. They said it was but isn’t he still injured?"

@PeterRMiles tweeted: "@BBCBreakfast shame Mike Bushell got the wrong Nathan Ferguson on his report this morning. He is not a defender, he is not 20 and he is not on loan from Crystal Palace. Maybe just let the footage do the talking"
