Wright put pen to paper this morning after his brother, Mark, also signed last month. Like Mark, Josh had a previous short spell at the club in 2014, when he was on loan from Millwall.

The midfielder has previously played for sides such as Millwall, Gillingham and Southend, making 417 senior appearances, including 119 in the Championship. Josh has 31 career goals that include 10 in League Two.

Technical Director, Erdem Konyar, said: “Josh is an exciting signing who has a genuine potential to raise the levels and expectations of the collective. His familiarity and existing relationship with our manager underlines an existing connection which can only be beneficial for the club.

“Personally I’m delighted with the consistency in our recruitment and strategies this season. Together with the gaffer we are consistently raising the standard. Long may it continue.”

Head coach John Yems said: “It’s great to add someone with Josh’s experience and knowledge of the game. He will be a real addition to the squad and a great influence on the lads.”

Wright will be available for selection for Sunday’s cup game with Leeds United.
