Four Ardingly pupils in full national ISFA U16 Squad

Four pupils will represent the full national ISFA U16 squad at St George’s Park, the home of the national football sides and the football association, this Christmas. Having come through a series of trials, Louis Evans, Eddie Davis, Chris Holman and Michael Makepeace all were selected to play for the South England U16s against the North at Repton School on Sunday.

Eddie Davis scored one and Michael Makepeace two, as the South ran out 5-2 winners, and Louis Evans also provided an excellent assist. The team will now play against Shropshire Schools and Milton Keynes Dons over the Christmas period and represent the full national team.

Alex Summerfield was also named a reserve for the full national U18 squad, playing a year above himself, and five of the Under 15 squad of Ardingly were selected for the full National Under 15 squad.

Nick Tester, Head of Boys Sport at Ardingly said, “To have so many of our players representing the national teams is indicative of the progress that they are making. We are hugely proud of all of them and we look forward to hearing of more successes in the future.”

The squads at Ardingly still have plenty to play for in their own season, with the 1st XI currently top of the Elgin Southern section of the league, the Under 16s in the quarter finals of the Sussex County Up, and the U15s still in the Independent Schools National U15 Cup and the U15 County Cup!
