On a heavy pitch neither team was able to dominate and retaining possession was a challenge on an unforgiving surface. Heath showed passages of the build up they have spent weeks working on in training however they were not able to get the momentum for any prolonged period.

Whilst chances were few and far between Heath did feel they had the ball in over the line from a goalmouth scramble however the linesman’s position prevented him from confirming and the referee was unsighted.

With a goalless 1st half Heath, having found their feet, did produce the stronger 2nd period and just the lack of finishing let them down on several runs.

Eventually from a goalmouth scramble following a Jade Palmer free kick Sadie Ashby retained her composure to lob the keeper.

However the lead did not last as a well taken Crockenhill corner was powerfully headed home. Both sides worked hard notwithstanding the leg sapping pitch however neither could produce a decent chance and a draw was a fair result. Emma Johnson was Heaths player of the match and well deserved for her non stop forwards runs for 90 minutes however credit goes to all the girls allowing for the long lay off.
