Despite several of the squad absent, Heath continued pre-season with a 4-2 win at Saltdean.
With most of the country basking in sunshine, Saltdean seemed to be stuck in a pocket as the sea mist rolled in and took the heat out of the day.
Heath showed dominance in possession in the first half but ended the half going in behind.
On 10 minutes Jamie Weston opened the scoring for Heath as he shut down the Tigers defence and then walked on and slotted the ball past the on-coming Tom Betts.
Heath spurned several guilt edge opportunities and this was to come back and bite them as the hosts equalised two minutes before half-time when a low corner was not cleared and a shot through a lot of bodies found it’s way into the bottom corner past Nic Taylor in the Heath goal.
Saltdean beat the offside trap and the striker finished well over the top of Nic Taylor.
Heath continued to miss chances in the second half before Max Miller finally found the back of the net on 53 minutes. He out-muscled the defender before finally getting the ball out of his feet and slotting in.
Goal of the game came on the hour as Bailie Rogers found the net from 17 yards out.
The youngster may have waited nearly all season last year but has started early this season as Karly Akehurst charged down a ball in the Heath box and took one for the team, Miller broke away and squared the ball to Bailie Rogers who fired in with his weaker right foot.
Heath saw more chances go begging before finally putting the game beyond Saltdean in the 85th minute when Alfie Rogers slotted home in similar fashion to his brother.
Next Up Heath travel to Jubilee Fields where they will face Ryman South side Three Bridges on Thursday, July 28, kick-off 7.45pm.
