Hill make a pointbefore big crowdat the home ofnew champions

Dulwich deservedly took the point they needed to ensure automatic promotion as champions but they will be glad to see the back of Hillians.

Last year in the final game of the season Hill beat them 1-0 to pull off an amazing Houdini act in a game that Dulwich went into still with an outside chance of the title.

This time around on the final day they knew a point would be enough but they trailed for nearly half the match and came off knowing they had been in a scrap despite finishing the stronger.

Cheered on by a big crowd of 1,137 at the appropriately named Champion Hill, Dulwich made a lively start and it needed two or three decent saves from Mark Zawadski to keep Hillians on terms.

But Max Miller was posing a few problems to the home defence and on 28 minutes he fired wide.

A minute later the visitors went ahead as Nicky Wheeler picked up the ball just outside the box and scored with an excellent shot. Zawadski almost immediately denied Kevin James but that was the nearest the hosts came to scoring before the break.

Once again Hillians had some defending to do at the start of the second half and Xavier Vidal gave a hint of what was to come when he fired wide four minutes in.

It was Vidal who cracked in a superb equaliser from 25 yards on 65 minutes and after that Dulwich looked the only likely winners.

But despite tiring in the closing stages, Hillians stood up well to take home a prize
