With the Hillians just two games away from the Final, which is played at Brighton & Hove Albion’s AMEX Stadium, it is no wonder that Manager Ian Chapman is describing this as a big game.

Chapman said “It’s the biggest of the season so far with a realistic chance of getting into a semi-final and hopefully a final. It will be a difficult tie because Worthing have really picked up recently under Adam Hinshelwood.”

He added “It’s a game that we know if we play well we are capable of winning. Our home record at the newly named Green Elephants Stadium has been good with just two defeats out of twenty or so in league and cup games”.

Hillians will be without Joe Keehan (knee injury), Lee Denyer (suspended) and Graham Martin (cup tied) for the fixture but outside of that Chapman has a full squad to choose from.

The two sides have already met this season, both in the league, with Hillians drawing 0-0 at Woodside Road in August, and then defeated Worthing 4-1 in the home game on Boxing Day.

The two teams currently have players who have appeared for the both sides with Worthing currently having former Hillians Matt Piper, Will Berry, Matt Hurley, Omar Bugiel and George Hayward in their ranks and are managed by Adam Hinshelwood, who had a spell at Burgess Hill last season as assistant manager to Chapman, whilst the Hillians have Alan Mansfield, Neil Watts, Stuart Tuck, Darren Budd, Scott Kirkwood and Spencer Slaughter all who have appeared for the Rebels.

The winners of the tie will face Ryman League leaders Peacehaven in the next round. That game will be played at a neutral venue.

Hillians successful Youth Team, who lifted the County Cup last Thursday, defeating Bognor Regis Town’s youth side 1-0, will be in attendance and will parade the trophy at half time.
