The spokesman added: "Steve Isherwood was delighted to be voted in as Acting Chairman and over the coming weeks he will be working closely with secretary John Rea to get the blub back on an even keel."

The club has had a summer of change with Lloyd Cotton being appointed joint boss with Shaun Saunders in August. By September, Saunders had stepped down leaving Cotton in charge, before news broke last week Cotton was leaving and Saunders was stepping back into the role.

But the club spokesman clarified what happened with Cotton. He said: "Regarding Lloyd Cotton - he was not “sacked” but he was offered to stay on as Assistant Manager as previously and stay on as a player but he declined and the Club still holds his Isthmian League Registration."
