Hughton was boss at the Canaries for two seasons and guided them to an 11th placed finish in the Premier League in his first year at the club.

His second season with the club proved to be a struggle, however, and he was sacked when they were five points clear of the relegation zone but ended up being relegated.

Hughton has no hard feelings, though, and said: “I was at Norwich for two years and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club.

“It is a side that I have a big association with but the most important fact is that it’s another game in which we want to get the three points.

“The game means no more to me than any other game we have played this season.

“We have seven games left and we want to pick up as many points as possible.”

Albion face a tricky test against the Canaries, who are the Championship’s form side, having picked up 23 points in their last ten matches.

Hughton has the belief that his side can come away with a positive result and said: “They are the form team in this division at the moment and they have a real chance of getting automatic promotion.

“I believe they have the best squad in the league and have a goal of getting promoted.

“But these are the games you want to play in and the prospect of facing a high-flying Norwich at the Amex, on the back of some good form from ourselves, is what we are looking ahead to.
