Paul Armstrong will take over as Under 21 team manager for the new season after guiding Hillians Youth team to second place in the Ryman Youth League last season. He will be assisted by Ian South who was his number two last season.

Chapman was quick to praise out-going under 21 manager Neil Wheeler saying “firstly a big thank you to Neil Wheeler who is stepping down from his position as under 21 manager. Neil has been at the club for a number of years and has done a terrific job at youth and under 21 level but he feels he would like a break.”

“Our new under 21 management team will see Paul Armstrong stepping up with Ian South being his assistant. They have done a fantastic job this season with the youth team and we are really pleased they have accepted their new roles.”

Tony Tregear will take over as youth team manager. He is no stranger to the Club having been joint manager with Ashley Carr for four years where the pair of them won the Ryman youth league each season.

Tregear will be assisted by Nigel Pearce and Adam Kipling. Chapman added: “It’s great to have Tony back at the club. He along with Ashley have done great for the club in the past and I feel it’s an exciting time to be at Burgess Hill Town FC.”

The development squad continues for it’s second season and the Hillians are offering trials for the coming season.

On the development squad Chapman said “Paul Dollner, Stuart Tuck and John Rattle have done great setting up the development squad and the future looks very bright for the Club.”

The Hillians are inviting players who are moving into under 15’s for the season ahead (currently in year 9 and moving into year 10 from September 2015).

Trials are for the current Elite under 15 squad AND also for the under 15 development squad and take place on Saturday 6th June from 10am and Tuesday 9th June from 7pm on the pitches behind the Green Elephants Stadium.

The Club have initially planned two trial sessions with a third and fourth to follow if required and needed.

It is essential that all players register their interest beforehand and not just turn up on the day. Please email both address’s asap to sign up [email protected] and [email protected]
