Kai Bichard and St Francis Rangers part company

The player-manager announced on Monday evening he was cutting all ties with the club.

It adds to a troubled season for St Francis, who sit pointless at the bottom of the Southern Combination premier division with 23 defeats from 23 games and a minus 156 goal difference.

Bichard had been trying to turn things round but saif on Twitter: “All ties have been cut with @StFrancisRgrsFC! Bichard is back on the market looking for a club!#Player #Manager give me a shout.”

Bichard told Middy Sport: “I wasn’t too happy as you could understand for what I done for the club in regards to taking a role not many people wanted to do.

“To getting training sessions running for the team to attracting players to want to come and play for the team.

“When I first went there people were trying to avoid the team I felt as though through myself I had managed to bring in players who were committed and wanted to help out.

“The team morale had been picked up belief was there we had started scoring goals and playing positively.

“Yes results hadn’t improved in the respect of points on the board but in terms of performances and even the exposure of the situation I pushed all of that forward.

“Long story short I had a conversation with Gossy (John Goss) and it was decided that it was time for me to move on.

“I felt highly unappreciated but now am looking for a new team to give my services to as a player and if needed on the coaching/managing side that too.

“I feel as though I didn’t get long enough to do what I wanted.

“I was optimistic as I felt all the hard work I had put in was going to come to fruition.

“I’d assembled a squad that was reliable and it’s a shame the game was called off on Saturday against Hailsham and I felt it was going to be the start of a turn around.

“All in all it was a good experience for me and good time at the club.

“I made some good friends and learned a lot about myself my footballing side of things too.

“I’m a positive minded person and will take all I’ve learned and implement it where I next go.”

Last week Bichard spoke of the upcoming game against fellow strugglers Hailsham as a do or die affair.

Speaking before the game was subsequently postponed, the former Shoreham striker told the Mid Sussex Times: “This Saturday coming up is a massive, massive game for the club, for me and the team, it could be a do or die game. It’s a game where I am looking to push on and pick up points.”
