Despite winning a record eighth French Open title on Sunday, Rafael Nadal’s ranking fell a place, meaning he is a potential quarter-final opponent for Murray when the Wimbledon draw is made a week on Friday. That means there is the possibility of Murray having to face Nadal in the quarter-finals, seven-time champion Roger Federer in the semi-finals and world No 1 Novak Djokovic in the final if he wants to become Britain’s first male singles champion at SW19 since Fred Perry in 1936.
