Match preview: Millwall vs Brighton

Brighton will be aiming for a fifth league win in a row when they travel to the New Den tomorrow (Saturday).

The Seagulls are on the back of a four game winning streak having dispatched Gianfranco Zola’s Watford side on Tuesday evening with a sixth goal of the season from Craig Mackail-Smith.

That leaves the Albion as the Championship’s form team and, with new full backs Bruno and Wayne Bridge continuing to impress alongside Gordon Greer and Adam El Abd, Gus Poyet’s side boast the best defence in the division having leaked just three goals.

The bulk of the Brighton team will remain unchanged – with Brighton one of only four teams in the Championship to have five players who have played ever single minute of the season so far.

Andrew Crofts could return in place of Gary Dicker and David Lopez is itching to make his first start following his arrival from Spain. Ashley Barnes is likely to start on the bench but will clock up his 100th league appearance in the stripes if he is introduced to the fray.

Millwall will give a fitness test to club captain Paul Robinson who is nursing an ankle injury while John Marquis will definitely miss out.

The Lions and the Seagulls have faced in other 82 times in the league, having won 32 each. Millwall are unbeaten in five and Brighton have kept just one clean sheet in the last seven run-outs against the Londoners.

Spanish star Vicente is still missing and following an individual training regime, although he could rejoin his teammates in the next week or so.
