Palser takes six as Eagles are blown away by Ansty

Ansty's bowlers were in form as the 1st and 3rd XI's had easy wins.

The 1st XI blew Crawlley Eagles away for just 39.

Having won the toss Crawley Eagles batting fell apart against the bowling attack of Jack Palser (6-16) and Jake Wilson (4-18). Their innings collapsed to 39 all out in just 18.4 overs.

Ansty made short work of the chase winning in just 5.5 overs with Tom Woodall 25no at the close.

2nd XI

Ansty found the going tough at Seaford with the home side rattling up 242-7. Alex Beard and Jonny Young each took two wickets.

At 202-4 Ansty looked to be in control but when first Jonny Young (76) was out then Sam Palser (36) the innings subsided losing 5 wickets and adding just 5 runs. The visitors then held out for the draw with 9 wickets down.

3rd XI

Seven bowlers were used against Lingfield IV as the home side were bowled out for just 69. Two wickets each for Josh Gander, Adam Butler and Megan Janman and one each for Ellen Burt and Ellie Monk were too much for the home side’s batting.

Ansty’s reply was emphatic losing just a single wicket to win by 9 wickets. Tom Smith top scored with 38no supported by Adam Butler (28no).

4th XI

The home side lost to local rivals Bolney by 85 runs. Bolney set a target of 204-5 but Ansty fell well short at 119. For Bolney Peter Buch (76no) and Luke Martin (71) were the top scorers.
