Phil Johnson sweeps the board at Hassocks’ end of season presentation

Phil Johnson took a clean sweep of awards as Hassocks hosted their End of Season Presentation afternoon at the Beacon on Sunday.

The 26 goal top scorer was voted Players Player and Supporters Player of the Season with Mark Dalgleish and Phil Wickwar also picking him to win the Managers Player of the Year award as well.

Earlier in the week the duo were confirmed as bosses for 2015/16 having overseen the successful escape from relegation with a fine run of form in the second half of the season that saw the Robins pull away from the drop zone to finish 15th.

Liam Benson was the recipient of both Players’ Player and Manager’s Player of the Season for the reserves while James Littlejohn took home the Youth Team Player of the Season gong with Nigel Pearce’s side set to round off the season this Sunday in the League Cup Final against Littlehampton Town at Shoreham’s Middle Road ground.

Young right back Bradley Tighe had a fine year breaking into the first team and he capped it off by being named the clubs Young Player of the Year.

For the ladies side, Claire Stevens was voted Players’ Player and Liz King was named Manager’s Player.
