SLIDESHOW: Hassocks’ young guns take revenge by hitting Hailsham for six

A young and exciting Hassocks side produced a superb all-round team performance to hammer Hailsham Town and exact revenge for a surprise 2-1 defeat earlier in the campaign.

What was more pleasing was that they did it with a young side and were missing three first-choice central defenders with Ashley Marsh, Nick Pitcher and Kieran O’Callaghan all serving suspensions.

They were also still missing Anthony Hibbert through injury and Phil Johnson, who was unavailable. They called up Stuart Faith from the reserves and his partnership with the excellent Alex Gathern at the heart of the defence was a key to the success, even after Drew Greenall had slotted the visitors in front from close range on ten minutes.
