The Reds were outclassed by Oldham and deserved to lose 4-1 in what was an extremely poor showing.

With off the field struggles it always looked like it was going to be a difficult season for Southend following their relegation from League One last season.

Back-to-back relegations would be a killer for Southend and they’re in for a nail-biting end of the season.

Their record at home is woeful with just 16 points from their 20 home games, scoring just 13 times.

It’s the worst record in the league and needs improving quickly if they’re to avoid the drop.

A man Crawley will know very well is Ashley Nathaniel-George.

Another ex-Crawley player for Southend is Nathan Ferguson, who signed for Southend from Crawley in January.

The Reds should have a good idea how both these players operate and this may help keep them quiet throughout the game.

But Crawley need to focus on improving their own game to put an end to their poor form.
