St Francis Rangers’ season went from bad to worse on Saturday as they lost 11-0 at home to Pagham.

Dan Simmonds hit four and Lloyd Rowlett two as Pagham ran riot at Colwell Road.

Manager Dave Shearing said: “Well it goes from bad to worse. Eleven lucky breaks just doesn’t wash.

“There are some massive challenges ahead we were as bad as it would appear.

“Some of the players don’t seem to listen. I have told them they would be leaving before me.

“The time has now come to get real, they have been lucky enough to have a chance to play at this level, but the commitment required is not there, at least nine of the goals were handed to Pagham on a plate.

“Too weak and not bothered. They think they are better than they are.

“This maybe a bit harsh, but it needs to be said.

“They don’t listen to simple instructions.

“It’s my job to weed out the dead wood.

“I can take losing as that is part of the game but giving up, that’s a completely different story.

“I will not sit back or walk away. We will get the right personnel if it takes all season.”
