The money donated by Southern Counties Fuels, which is part of Certas Energy, will be used to buy away strips for the team in time for the new season.

This will help the players, who train on Colwell Road in Haywards Heath, look professional when they play against other teams in the Sussex County Football League.

Joanne Dobbs, regional manager of Southern Counties Fuels, which has a depot on Colwood Lane, Warninglid, said: “We were very keen to help buy St Francis Rangers FC’s new away kits, so they would feel top of their game when representing our area across Sussex.

“We hope looking the part will help them give the best performance possible on the pitch.”

John Goss, chairman of St Francis Rangers FC, said: “Having a new away kit will really encourage team spirit and pride among our players, so we are grateful to Southern Counties Fuels for the donation.

“Looking their best should help the lads hit the back of the net this season.”
