It was rumoured this week the club were meeting with the former Portsmouth midfielder after he was released by the League One club. But despite having a trial with the Reds towards the end of last season, he is not a player they are looking to sign.

Konyar said: “He trialled us with a few days with us last season but there hasn’t been much else. But if the gaffer thinks differently then we’ll see but he [May] has not been in our our recent conversations.”

But Yems confirmed that he is not in his plans and suggested there were more signings to add to Sam Matthews and Sam Ashford. He said: “He [Adam May] was with us training but he is not one of the six who are joining.”

@efl_hub tweeted earlier this week: "It is understood May now has offers from Cambridge United, Morecambe and Yeovil Town on the table."
