'You couldn't have written it' - Crawley Town boss John Yems reacts to FA Cup draw

Yems and his Leeds-conquering Reds side will face a trip to Bournemouth in two weeks time - a club he spent six years at with Eddie Howe.

And Yems felt let down by the way it ended at Bournemouth and in a recent interview with the Daily Mirror he said: "“I walked out of the cub after six and a half years, going from League One to the Premier League with £3,800 redundancy. I was out of the game for a long time and I made a promise to myself never to treat anyone I knew like that."

But Yems does not see this as a chance for revenge, he just wants to go out an win a game of football.

He told us minutes after the draw: "You couldn’t have written it but it’s just another game you want to win.

"We just want to play a game and beat the b******s."

And Yems doesn't believe Bournemouth will be taking the game lightly or fearing the Reds after Sunday's performance against Leeds. He said: "No chance whatsoever. I don’t think they will be fearing us after that, it’s just one of those games."

And despite the way things turned sour when he left the club, Yems focusses on the positives. "I still good mates down there and still know a lot of players," he said.

"I had some very good times there. You have to focus on the good times."

If they beat Bournemouth the Reds will face a Premier League side away in either Fulham or Burnley. But Yems is not thinking that far ahead and the Leeds game has sunk in quickly.

He said: "You have got to get through this one [Bournemouth] first before Fulham or Burnley.

"Yeah Leeds has sunk in and I am more worried about Bradford now at the weekend. We have get back on the road and beat them."
