On a beautiful summer’s morning on Sunday and with the Haywards Heath course looking at its best, an early start did not seem quite so daunting.

And the promise of a full English breakfast afterwards is always a great comfort for those taking part in the suitably named Breakfast Cup.

After a 6am shotgun start , it was Joe Brice and Mel Alcock who emerged victorious with 43pts from Frank Bretland & Peter Snook 41 and David Jeyes and John Wood Hill 40. The trophy was presented by captain Peter Snook.
