Gösta and Margaret win Rosebowl competition

It was Bank Holiday Monday, 5th May and, being a Bank Holiday, the forecast was dire. But apart from the high winds, the weather was actually very nice for playing our traditional Rosebowl Competition.

This is a mixed drawn competition which is normally well supported.

However, many of the people who would normally play in the competition were actually off on holiday and so just 14 pairs participated in the event. The format for the event was St. Andrew’s Greensomes, where both members of each team tee off and they choose which ball is the best to play. They must also choose who should take the second shot on all the odd numbered holes, their partner playing the second shot on all the even holes. Sounds complicated but it is actually quite good fun.
