Haywards Heath Ladies triumph in Mail on Sunday competition first round

At the second attempt of the week, the ladies of Haywards Heath finally managed to play the Mail on Sunday competition first round against a fine team of Charton Park Ladies on Sunday.

Everyone had been there on Thursday, ready to play, but alas the course was closed because of the extremely wet weather.

Whilst the wind was doing its worst, Sunday was the final day for the first round, so we had to play. All five matches were closely fought but the Haywards Heath Ladies came out on top and won the match 3-2. So, onwards and upwards, we now wait to see who we are playing in the next round.

The Haywards Heath team comprised: Team Captain, Haley McCartney, Aisling Cloonan, Clare Strong, Catherine Yeatman and Janice Brooks.

The team will face Cuckfield away in the next round.
