The sun shone all day for the 66 ladies taking part in this year’s event. The competition was played as a ‘Waltz’ in teams of three, with one score counting on the first hole, two scores on the second and all three on the third and then repeating.

Pimm’s o’clock started early that day, as Rosemary Parvin, the Ladies’ Captain, had arranged for a refreshment stop between the third and fourth holes, a place where you naturally come past, or back to, a number of times during the round. As there was a shotgun start, the refreshment tent was fully occupied for most of the day and our thanks go to Rosemary and her husband and all the others who helped man it and keep the ladies refreshed.

The winners of the competition were: Dora McCabe, Haley McCartney and Pat Jenks in first place with 76 points; Jenny Steele, Lynne Wheeler and Catherine Yeatman in second place with 73 points; and in third place Wendy Melville, Avril Plowright and Sandra Holman with 72 points. Nearest the line on the 18th hole was won by Linda Taylor, and both Nearest the Pins on the 7th and 17th were won by Kathy May. Well done to all our winners and may the sun keep shining on us all.
