Mid Sussex play out tightly fought draw with Horsham

The West Sussex Billiards League match played at the Roffey Club saw Horsham and Mid Sussex playing out a tightly fought 2-2 draw.

John Hoad came out confidently for the host’s with a fine 200-135 win over Martin Payne, the Middies skipper Ian Janman secured the equaliser by building a fluent 40 break then to move on to a convincing 200-90 success.

The visitor’s Barry Martin built a break of 41 then to find his opponent Dave Liliey coming in with a 33 and 43, however, Martin showed his prowess by gaining a 200-149 victory.

The closest frame of the night saw the Hornet’s Colin Harwood open with a 39 break then to see Stuart Williamson reply with a 32, it was a ding dong battle right to the wire with Harwood reaching out over the line 200-197, the match was well marshalled by Dennis Wakeford.
