Burgess Hill Runners out in force at Stanmer Park

Burgess Hill Runners were out in force for the second cross country race of the winter on Saturday. The event headed  back to Stanmer Park as the original venue could not host the event.

Under 11 boys: 2k (41 runners): Thomas Lawson (8:41) 12th , Sam Powell (10:03) 33rd. U 13 boys: 3k (68 runners): Owen Wallek (13:58) 49th, Charlie Loniing (17:08) 66th. Ladies: 5k (118 runners). Team A: Kirsty Armstrong (23:08) 36th, Emma Leeson McManus (24:00) 49th, Annette Maynard (27:28) 88th. Team B: Fay Roberts (28:03) 92nd, Cath Beckett (28:14) 94th, Suse Potts (29:11) 97th. Team C: Jayne Leaney (31:26) 108th. Men: 8k (187 runners). Team A: Philip Wallek (34:40) 72nd, Jamie Goodhead (37:14) 113th, Ian Jones (40:12) 138th, Andy Sayers (40:45) 144th. Team B: Jack Maynard (43:22) 162nd, John Palmer (46:06) 175th, Chris Marr (46:26) 176th, Phil Latham (47:31) 182nd. Team C: Thomas Peel - Yates (50:38) 183rd.

On Sunday Paul Sargent continued his good form as he won the ' Mouth 2 Mouth ' marathon in a time of (03:31:04), Sharona Harrington also completed the course in (04:43:13).

Elsewhere Oliver Day took on the ' Hurtwood 50k '. A tough hilly event near Dorking that takes in a bit of the North Downs Way. Oliver finished in a great time of (05:33:16).

Eileen Adlam took on the 'Downland Devil '. Eileen completed the course in (01:29).
