The Harriers made history this week after winning the Sussex Grand Prix (SGP) for the first time in 30 years of competition in the league, beating Horsham Joggers to the title.
Both the Men and the Ladies had won their leagues in prior years but the club went one better this time round with a clean-sweep, securing the overall title as well as the Men’s and Ladies’ crowns.
They faced an agonising wait for the season’s results after last week’s race at Crowborough.
Indeed it was the Crowborough fixture which saw the Ladies move up to top spot and clinch the league ahead of Hailsham Harriers after some brilliant performances in a dramatic season. The Vet Ladies also faired well, finishing the season in second place.
Conversely, the Men never looked like missing out on their third win in as many years, cruising to victory ahead of Horsham Joggers by over 1800 points.
