A special programme of events is under preparation to mark the club’s remarkable attainment, listed by Wikipedia as a key development of 1771, and the club is seeking an iconic logo to promote their Sestercentennial celebrations

And the club would love to receive your design, and there’s a great prize to be won by the successful artist.

Howard Cohen, Co-ordinator of Horsham Cricket Club Sestercentennial 1771-2021, said: “The chosen logo will be used for advertising, memorabilia and promotional purposes and the competition is open to all residents of the district, and we should be especially pleased to hear from any local art students.

“It couldn’t be easier to enter – please just submit your circular design in black and white, either as a drawing or digital art.

“Give free rein to your imagination, the only requirements are that the design must mention these three phrases – ‘Horsham Cricket Club’, ‘1771-2021’ and ‘Sestercentennial’.

“Then, all you have to do is to submit your artwork by e mail attachment to [email protected].”

Once the winning design has been selected and has become the property of Horsham Cricket Club, the winner will receive a certificate accrediting their work, together with four free entry passes for either the Big GIG 2021, Horsham’s premier outdoor music event, or the 2021 Firework Bonanza, also staged at the club.

Howard Cohen added: “Its your choice! Good luck with your entry and we look forward to hearing from you – by this June 25th, please !”

When submitting the design, please be sure to include the following details: the artist’s name, age (if under 18), postal address and phone number, and confirmation of parental or guardian consent for entrants under the age of 18.
