The event this weekend will be hosted by Wasps and run at Farnham Royal Rugby Club – launched during the 2008-09 season, the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup is the first national grassroots tournament officiated by Premiership Rugby.

Over 7,000 children take part in the competition, with the winners from each festival taking part in the Parade of Champions at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Final at Twickenham in May, where they are presented to a sell-out crowd at half-time.

Haywards Heath Rugby Club will go head-to-head with a collection of clubs from the South East and will also get the chance to meet and obtain advice from members of the Wasps’ first team.

Speaking ahead of the event Haskell, who started his career at Maidenhead Rugby Club said: “These types of events – run by Aviva Premiership Rugby clubs and supported by sponsors such as Land Rover – are the foundations of rugby in the community, and something we should be really proud of. I’m sure there will be some of the next generation of Wasps players on show.

“I still remember playing at this age and loving my rugby so I can’t wait to hear how they get along. I’m sure the children will enjoy the game like I did.”

Land Rover supports grassroots rugby and provides the opportunity for over 7,000 youngsters to take part in the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup each season. Keep up to date with the latest Land Rover rugby activity by following @LandRoverRugby on Twitter.
