Keymer got their first win of the season at home to Crawley on Saturday narrowly edging out Crawley by two wickets at Adastra Park on Saturday.

Keymer won the toss and with the cover having been on for the previous 24 hours decided to field first. Lee Pittavino opened the bowling and struck early getting Paul Clifford caught behind for 4. Pittavino then struck again twice more and with the all important wicket of Kunal Kapoor for just 16.

Mike Poole bowled well to pick up 1-38 from 17 overs and Ronan Pithie and Andy Westgate also chipped in with one wicket but the star again was Pittavino who took wickets all throughout the innings to finish with 7-46 from 26 overs. The final Crawley wicket falling on 147 in the final over of the innings thanks to some late big hitting from Paulo Macheda (30).

Keymer then got off to a positive start with John Poole playing positively putting on 39 for the first wicket before Mike Johnson was dismissed for 17. However wickets then fell regularly with Kapoor (3-66) striking 3 times in quick succession.

Keymer were then in real trouble at 88-7 with John Poole also having departed for an excellent 53. Andy Dean then came to the crease scoring a well made 20 to edge Keymer closer to the total but when he was out to Kasif Naveed, his 5th victim of the afternoon Keymer still needed another 37 to win. Pitt was then joined by Westgate who scored some quick early runs but with some tight bowling from Paul Clifford and Kapoor nerves were starting to jangle. With 17 still needed Pitt then pulled Kapoor for 4 and 3 in the space of a few balls and after a few singles and 2s just 2 runs were required which Westgate duly hit in the air just past cover to seal an important win for Keymer.
