Rugby is not just for boys

At Haywards Heath RFC there is a group of young girls playing Under 6 rugby this season showing that it’s a sport for all - not just for the boys!

There are around 40 Reception and Year 1 children from a whole range of local schools playing U6 rugby every week and amongst them there are five girls with two female coaches working as part of the U6 coaching team. So all you young girls out there who fancy giving rugby a go, come and join in - rest assured you won’t be the only girl learning tag rugby alongside the boys. Of course more boys are welcome too.

The U6 group trains every Sunday from 9.30 to 11am at Whiteman’s Green and if anyone – boy or girl - wants to find out more, contact Clare Parker who is the Heath U6 Admin Manager on [email protected] You can have two taster sessions before deciding whether rugby is right for your child - Heath has the biggest mini and youth section in the Mid Sussex area and you will find a welcoming group of volunteers working hard for the local rugby community.
