Downlands School girls rugby team shine at National finals

The U15 Girls Rugby Team from Downlands Community School came 11th out of the whole country at the Girls National Rugby Finals at Staines RUFC.

They played five games during the tournament.

The team enjoyed a lot of possession and defended really well. Aimee Porter and Ella Head both scored tries.​

Girl’s rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in England, with record numbers of girls trying the sport for the first time following the success of the England Women’s World Cup win in 2014 and the girls at Downlands have certainly made a significant contribution to those numbers.
