George Harris, an eighteen year old Heath Colt who has made a number of key appearances for the senior Heath XV this past season, had the opportunity of a lifetime last week courtesy of Club sponsor BMW Vines of Gatwick.

He was one of a select few to be invited to travel to Twickenham and train with the England coaches. Following a tour of the pitch and a briefing in the England changing room at the home of England Rugby, George attended a two hour training session with Graham Rowntree and Mike Catt.

The 30 lucky rugby players from around the country then shared a BBQ with the coaching team and had the chance to quiz them in an informal Q&A session.

George has played for Heath since 2005 through the mini and junior age groups and is committed to exploring rugby as a career.

Glen Jones Heath Director of Rugby explained “George was chosen to represent Heath since we knew this was an experience that he would enjoy to the full and one that would help his rugby development.

“Despite his relatively young age, George stepped up to the senior Heath squad during our recent unbeaten league season and has shown an amazing commitment and work ethic in training sessions.

“We are very grateful to BMW for organising this wonderful opportunity.”
