Mixing adventure with physicality allowed Heath U12s to play some of their best rugby for some time as the squad took the opportunity to introduce and integrate a number of new players into the team.

The players were encouraged to play an expansive game with both backs and forwards creating scores.

Throughout the tournament the players worked hard on attacking into space and moving the ball away from contact. The end result was a successful tournament which included a win against Pulborough, a last minute try scoring win over Sutton & Epsom and a lesson-learning loss against current Sussex Champions, Uckfield.

To the delight of the Heath U12s and their travelling supporters, the squad was awarded the trophy for the Team of the Tournament as voted for by the other teams taking part.

Next up in just under three weeks’ time there will be a chance to make use of the lessons they learnt at the West Sussex Festival at Whitemans Green.
