Top finishes for Dallman and Adams on the Sussex coast

In the South Coast Half Marathon and 10k along the Seaford seafront on Sunday there were top finishes for Steve Dallman and Ben Adams who were fourth and fifth in their respective races.

Despite the heavy rain, Dallman finished strongly with his excellent half marathon time of 1:24.56, also picking up a win in his age group. Adams, who won the 10k event in 2014 could not repeat that feat in a stronger field this time around but was pleased with a new PB of 39:12 for this looped course.

Also on Sunday in the Sussex Grand Prix was the Bewl 15 mile race, run largely off road on undulating hills around Bewl Water on the border of Sussex and Kent. The Club comprehensively won the league last year and are looking for a repeat in 2015. The rain, mud and hills made conditions a challenge but Rob Watts did his best to keep that goal alive and was first Harrier home in 1:42.13 and 22nd overall, followed by Michael Burke in 1:46.51. First lady for the Harriers was Katherine Buckeridge in 2:18.09 with Marion Hemsworth picking up a third place in her age group (2:25.25).
