Torkington hoping for repeat performance in Heritage Oil Open

Haywards Heath based Emma Torkington who won last year’s u-21 event will be heading to K2 for this year’s Heritage Oil Open hoping for a repeat performance.

The Heritage Oil Open is the highest standard Table Tennis event run in England since the London 2012 Olympics and has a 200-strong entry including the English, Welsh and Irish Commonwealth teams in preparation for the Commonwealth Games being played later in the summer in Glasgow.

The English team includes the No.1 seed in the Men’s event – Liam Pitchford (world ranked 56) who is rated no.4 in the World at U-21 level and Paul Drinkhall (wr82) who recently won the Major World pro tour event in Spain. In the Women’s event English stars such as Jo Drinkhall (wr109) , Kelly Sibley (wr 138) and 15 year old Tin Tin Ho (wr221 senior) will also be attending.
