Wendy and Chris win tournament at Cuckfield Tennis Club

Cuckfield Tennis Club recently had a busy weekend with the last of their regular social tournaments until the Christmas ones on Saturday, when Wendy Markwick and Chris Wincott won a bottle of ‘bubbly’ and many members enjoyed the tennis, tea with homemade cakes and sunshine.

With the darker evenings we are now just playing on Saturday afternoons for general play but as hardy players we play all winter and there are various drop-in sessions during the days which you are welcome to join. Please look on our website: cuckfieldtennisclub.org.uk for details.

The sunshine continued for the Sunday when Cuckfield hosted the annual mid Sussex inter village tennis tournament. Due to a late withdrawal there were only 3 teams, Cuckfield, Lindfield and Haywards Heath. Each team consisted of 6 players and there were rounds of mixed, ladies and men’s doubles matches. The matches were all competitive and hard fought with the Lindfield team of Barbara, Elaine, Sean, Chris, Jo and Andrew being victorious.
