Coming into the competition, Wood and his partner Davies were unseeded with very little expectation placed on them.

However, good performances in the box round saw them see off number two seeds as they progressed to the knockout stages.

A win in the last four, saw them book a final spot with the number one seeds.

Despite going in as underdogs, Wood and Davies defied the odds to be crowned under-17 age group doubles winners.

Wood wasn’t finished there, though, and continued his fine form into the singles competition.

Some fine performances saw him reach the final.
