Sergeant Early’s Dream features some of the trio’s current favourite tunes, and they hope its release will help fill the music gap while live performances are suspended during the coronavirus restrictions.

Using a wide range of instruments, Barry Ruffell, Ray Chandler and Mick Parker play a varied selection of material from their extensive collection.

Ray said: “A speciality of the trio is to take tunes from the rich folk heritage of the UK, Ireland, continental Europe and elsewhere and give them new dimensions with special arrangements.

“Full details of the CD, which was recorded before the Covid-19 lockdown, are on the website www.rudemex.co.uk The website also includes a facility greatly valued by musicians – a library of over 3,000 tune notations, available as printable pdf sheets or in abc music format.

“The new CD was produced by Jeremy Sherman, who also played guitar on one track, and the CD sleeve photography was kindly provided by Southwick Camera Club.”
