Brighton rock ’n’ roll blues band The Delta Sons have been selected to play at the Rugby World Cup at The Amex Stadium on Sunday, September 20.

They were chosen from 50 bands, and a shortlist of four, by the Rugby World Cup officials and have been allowed to play on The Amex bandstand stage for this event.

Drummer Lewis Fisher, who lives in Framfield near Uckfield, expressed his excitement.

He said: “This is a real privilege to be part of such a huge worldwide event.

“I only applied for the band to be a part of the Brighton and Hove Albion games, but we came away with much more than we anticipated. It’s going to be a day to remember for sure.

“I’ve never been in that situation where I’ve been shortlisted from such a large number of applicants with so much talent either. It’s an honour to have been chosen by very important people, but now it’s the pressure of living up to why they chose us.”

The band will be playing 45 minutes before kick-off, which is at 12pm.
