Mystery Jets, Eagulls and more are announced as first names to play at this year’s Southsea Fest

THE first names have been announced for this year’s revived Southsea Fest, including indie stalwarts alongside hotly-tipped acts and local artists.

Mystery Jets will be headlining The Pyramids Centre stage, which is taking part as a venue for the first time, while Lucy Rose, Little Comets, The Big Moon, Black Honey, Eagulls, Tellison, and more than 20 other acts are now confirmed to appear.

They will be joined by well-known local acts including Kassassin Street, Damn Beats, The Boy I Used To Be, Aviv and The Eunuch Horn and Devin-Jade.

More than 100 live acts are due to appear at the newly expanded 6,000-capacity event, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year after taking a break in 2015.

The number of venues putting on music on October 1 will double to 20.

Other venues include The Wedgewood Rooms, Little Johnny Russells and The One Eyed Dog.

In another first, the organisers will be putting on a shuttle bus between the venues.
