Downs Ladies Club

LEADER Anne Tasker gave a warm welcome to members at the start of our 4th year as Downs Ladies Club.

The minutes were read and after an early cuppa we were joined by our speaker for the afternoon Mr Eric Stevens whose talk was entitled "Why do plays have scenery?"

We were taken on a fascinating journey going back many centuries as to the origins of how plays came into being, and also shown samples of how the scenery developed over time.

The vote of thanks was given by Anne Tasker.
