Great British Bake Off: East Sussex school PA in 2022 line-up

Bake Off is coming back this month and a PA from East Sussex is competing.

Channel’s 4 Great British Bake Off is back on our screens on Tuesday September 13 at 8pm.

Thirteen bakers will be faced with a range of challenges over the 10-week series.

Flying the flag for East Sussex is 34-year-old Janusz, a personal assistant to a headteacher.

Janusz grew up in Poland and moved to the UK 10 years ago.

He is now living in East Sussex with his boyfriend Simon and their sausage dog, Nigel.

Janusz’s other interests include collecting movie memorabilia and drag. He even bought Simon a statue of RuPaul.

He was inspired to bake by his mother who always baked on a Saturday. This is a tradition Janusz continued when he moved away from home to go to university.

He describes his baking style as ‘cartoon-like, colourful and camp’, and loves working Polish ingredients into British staples.

His favourite flavours are ginger and chocolate.

Other contestants include a nuclear scientist from Cumbria, a music teacher from Lanarkshire, and a London nanny.
