FULL MOON

O full moon, as you wend your wayat nightDispelling earth's darkness withethereal light

What joy you give to those

denied sleep

Nurses, police and those who keep

watch over land, sky and sea

Providing safety for you and me.

A mother kept awake by

fretful child

May ponder your power over

seas calm and wild,

And all of mankind by you

is beguiled

And for one of those who finds

it hard to sleep

I delight to try and solve your

mysteries deep.
