He said: “This is mental! Superb! I never thought I’d be in this position. This will go a long, long way.”

The win has come at a great time for Sam and his fiancé of two years, Kirsty, who unfortunately had to postpone their wedding due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Sam said: “Our wedding was meant to be in July this year but has been postponed until next year now, fingers crossed.

“We’ve been together for 13 years, so it’s been awful timing with everything happening, but I’m just over the moon with this.

“It will really help us out.”

When asked how Kirsty would react to the news, Sam said: “This will blow her socks off!”
