New Brighton shopping destination Hanningtons Lane opens to the public
This week, residents and visitors can walk down Hanningtons Lane for the first time after two years of work.
And the public will see the historic Puget’s College for the first time in 150 years.

Hide AdAndrew Foulds, portfolio director at developer Redevco, said: “We hope that as retailers open and visitors wander through the new Lane, visit The Flint House roof terrace, see Puget’s Cottage revealed for the first time in 150 years and experience our green wall and exciting new art projects, they will appreciate how much thought and detail has gone into the project.
“We have sought to create spaces for modern retailers to thrive within an already iconic part of the city, but to respect the heritage and architecture of the area.

Hide AdThe first tenant to open is The Flint House, a new dining concept from the Gingerman Restaurant Group. Hot on their heels will be independent ice cream maker Brass Monkey in a few weeks time.
Watches of Switzerland and Oliver Bonas are also busy fitting out new stores on North Street.
One of the first retailers attracted to the redeveloped Hanningtons Estate was Habitat in November.
They joined existing brands such as White Company, Kurt Geiger, Sandro, Maje, Cath Kidston and Flying Tiger.
What is Hanningtons Estate project?

Hide AdIt’s been years in the making, but finally Hanningtons Lane has opened to the public.
Developer Redveco pledged to turn the 1.3 acre Hanningtons Estate – formerly a department store – into a new retail and leisure destination’ for Brighton.
It has worked to improve the facades at its retail units in North Street, hosting brands such as Habitat, and now this week it unveils its new Hanningtons Lane.
The new Lane includes 13 retails units, nine apartments and the new Gingerman concept restaurant The Flint House.

“Years in the making, the people of Brighton and visitors to the city can now see Morgan Carn’s designs brought to life.”
He said every shopfront, elevation and colour was individually designed to blend in with the Lanes.
Mr Foulds said: “The Lanes attract shoppers from all over the world and our retailers recognise that this is a fantastic and unique place to spend time and shop.
